Parenting Workshops

Parenting Center Workshops

Our Parenting Center provides parents-to-be, parents, and caregivers with support, guidance, and enrichment as they prepare for and raise their young children. Our workshops offer practical skills and solutions, advice, and community-building opportunities.  ?LGBTQ and straight, couples and single parents, Jewish and non-Jewish, biological and adoptive, people of all abilities — are all warmly welcomed.

Upcoming Workshops:

One Marshmallow or Two?
Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Executive Functioning

Thursday, July 19, 7:30 PM
The famous “Marshmallow” Experiment found that children who were able to wait for what they wanted went on to lead more successful lives. Follow the journey from a baby’s total reliance on adults to personal self control with two Kingsbury Center psychologists. Learn how you can foster the important executive functions needed to manage challenges as your child grows.  Intended for parents of ages 2-5 but all are welcome!

The Edlavitch DCJCC is planning a major renovation of our building, beginning in the fall of 2018, with completion by September of 2019.  The renovation will enhance the Center as a whole and will bring some very exciting changes and improvements to our early childhood programs.  During the renovation period, our entire building will be closed.  While our programming calendar will be more limited than usual during this time, we will be offering a few parent workshops and family building programs in other locations around the neighborhood.
